Functional precision medicine is at an inflection point. Patient-derived models, functional assays, single-cell technologies, artificial intelligence, and related platforms are now mature enough to inform clinical decision-making, therapeutic discovery, and drug development. At the same time, the policy environment is increasingly receptive to evidence-driven implementation.
The field needs a coordinated professional community to carry this momentum into clinical care.
SfPM is building that community. Our members are helping define standards, strengthen evidence, expand education, support responsible clinical implementation, and advance the use of functional models to improve treatment decisions and develop better therapies.
Where we're
headed
Over the next several years, SfPM is focused on four priorities:
A national strategic plan: defining the roadmap academia, biopharma, government, and patient groups must take together to move the field forward.
An expanded community: broadening the expertise and representation, driving functional precision medicine through inclusive events and new collaborations.
A funders coalition: building relationships with governmental and non-governmental funders to catalyze early high-impact projects.
Flagship projects: coordinated, high-impact initiatives that demonstrate what the field can achieve together.

For researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals. Includes all member benefits. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Associate membership — Free
For postdocs, students, early-career researchers, patients, and advocates. Includes all member benefits.

Priority access to SfPM-hosted events
Members in good standing receive complimentary registration and priority access to SfPM-hosted events, including our monthly seminar series, conference meet-ups, and special events like our SfPM reception at the AACR Annual Meeting.
Self-nomination for monthly seminars
Members may self-nominate to present in our monthly virtual seminar series, which brings together researchers, clinicians, and industry leaders in functional precision medicine.
